Amazon River, Peru
Pastor Julio Sinaragua accepted Christ and God’s call to ministry at a young age. For 21 years, he has been serving the poor, equipping leaders, and building churches in the Upper Amazon region of South America called “Tres Fronteras.” This is the area of the Amazon where Peru, Colombia, and Brazil come together. Based in Iquitos, Peru, Pastor Julio has built 33 churches and trained pastors and leaders across the region. He and his wife, Yola, also lead a thriving children’s outreach reaching and discipling many children with the hope of the Gospel.
Pastor Julio’s son-in-law, Cesar Ausejo, is a gifted ministry leader. Working with RAMAS, God is using him to lead short-term mission teams, to unite churches in fellowship and outreach to expand God’s kingdom in the region, and to mobilize churches to go to the nations. Cesar says, “The name RAMAS, meaning “branches,” reflects our identity as branches connected to Christ, the true vine (John 15:5). Our desire is that, through discipleship, God’s Kingdom will grow in Peru and beyond.”
Urban Harvest has had a relationship with Pastor Julio for more than 18 years. We are thankful to call them Partners in Ministry, developing training materials, encouraging leaders, and empowering pastors and Christian workers to fulfill the Great Commission in the Upper Amazon region.
Opportunities to serve in Peru include children’s ministry and VBS, sports outreach, English classes, health awareness, street evangelism, prayer walks, construction projects, and more. For more information on this ministry and to learn about short-term missions opportunities, contact us here.
