Our Vision
It is the vision of Urban Harvest Ministries to equip the church to empower the urban poor.
Our Mission
It is our mission to equip leaders for relevant ministry among the urban poor and to implement strategic, relevant evangelism and discipleship among the urban unchurched that transforms lives and communities one person and one family at a time.
Our Core Values
Identity in Christ
At the heart of our core values is that God cares intimately for every human being and has designed a unique destiny for every person.
Individual empowerment
Despite the limited opportunities and disenfranchisement that exist in the urban community, destiny remains for each individual and can be realized through holistic, sustainable empowerment.
Christ-centered communities / community transformation
Christ is the only hope for the disenfranchised. As individuals and families walk into their destinies and into transformed worldviews in Christ-centered living, communities change.
Church-centric
We believe that the church is the Christ-based center of empowerment and must be equipped to do relevant ministry that focuses on community transformation one person and one family at a time.
Our Strategy
To accomplish our mission, we:
- Initiate and establish a prayer network for the empowerment of citizens and for community transformation.
- Equip existing and emerging leaders in targeted cities to implement strategies that will empower and equip urban citizens to fulfill their individual destinies.
- Engage in strategic outreach which invites urban citizens into a process of faith-based empowerment.
- Engage short-term mission teams in strategic outreach providing opportunities for life-change while serving long-term strategies in urban communities.
- Resource the urban church with materials for leadership development, outreach and discipleship produced in the inner city for the inner city cross-cultural context.
- Develop long-range partnerships for community transformation.
- Provide on-going guidance and program support for sustainability.
