What is Hope for the City?

Hope for the City is a concentrated effort by the body of Christ to reclaim communities and pastor the streets again. Its goal is for the Church to be relevant in the community around it and affect transformational change by bringing people to faith in Jesus Christ, empowering them to fulfill their God-given destinies, and equipping them to be catalysts of positive change in their own neighborhoods.

Hope for the City is an ongoing mission with Isaiah 61 at its core.

The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me to bring good news to the poor…
bringing beauty from ashes, joy instead of mourning, praise instead of despair.

…They will rebuild the ancient ruins, repairing cities long ago destroyed. They will revive them, though they have been empty for many generations.

Transcending boundaries separating suburban and urban believers, church denominations, and races, Hope for the City brings people out of their private lives to hear and rejoice in a Gospel open to all, and experience a larger and closer community than they had known before.
