Hope for the City 2008
New York ~ June 22 - July 26, 2008
Be a part of bringing Hope to the City through strategic outreach and prayer. Come to New York City for a day, a week, or all five weeks.
You and your team will be part of an ongoing effort to empower the urban disenfranchised, working side by side with The Harvest Center to impact inner city communities and bring change. In addition, your team will be led by urban Christians whose lives have been changed through Jesus Christ. You will hear their stories as you walk the streets of their communities, do strategic outreach, prayer and evangelism, and see first hand how Christ can change an inner city community.
How will you participate in bringing Hope to the City?
- Talking, playing and praying with children, youth and adults on the streets, parks, playgrounds and projects.
- Participating in outreaches and block parties with drama, puppet ministry, mime and music.
- Praying with individuals at Prayer Stations and prayerwalking the community.
- Serving in soup kitchens.
- All of these and much more depending on the experience and abilities of your team.
Throughout your inner-city mission, Hope for the City Equipping Sessions will empower you for all ministry opportunities. Topics include transformational leadership, strategic outreach and evangelism, prayerwalking and prayer principles, community connectivity and more. Through these equipping sessions, you’ll learn what it takes to see transformational change in any community – including yours!
